Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has finalised the government’s official emblem and anthem on Wednesday and will formally inaugurate it on June 2, for Telangana Formation Day celebrations.
He reviewed the anthem ‘Jaya Jaya He Telangana’ with Oscar winning music director MM Keeravani and lyricist Ande Sri and emblem designer Rudra Rajesham at his residence in Jubilee Hills. The final version of the anthem was performed by the musicians at the review meeting.
Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, former minister Sudarshan Reddy, Professor Kodandaram, Raghu, CM’s advisor Vem Narendra Reddy, MLAs Yennam Srinivas Reddy, Ramchandru Naik, Gandra Satyanarayana, MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud, former MLA Sampath, MP candidate Balram Naik and others attended the meeting.
The anthem and emblem will reflect the culture and tradition of Telangana, officials said. Formation day celebrations will take place at Parade Grounds and Tank Bund on Sunday.
On Tank Bund, many cultural programs such as a laser show, food and gaming shops have been arranged and it will be attended by the CM and his cabinet colleagues.
KTR criticises Congress govt:
BRS working president K Taraka Rama Rao criticised the government for wanting to remove Charminar from the state emblem. In a post on social media platform X, he stated, “World over, Charminar has been the icon/symbol of Hyderabad for centuries. When one thinks of Hyderabad, they cannot but think of Charminar which has all the qualities of a UNESCO world heritage site. Now Congress Government wants to remove the iconic Charminar from the state logo citing frivolous reasons.”
Telangana was formed on June 2, 2014 and was carved out from Andhra Pradesh after the passage of Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 bill in parliament by the Congress government.
