New Delhi: UFC star Conor McGregor may face a cross-examination in connection with the CCTV footage he kept in his possession in the Nikita Hand rape case. Dublin hair colourist Hand accused McGregor of raping her six years ago in 2018 in a hotel and filed a civil rape case against one of the richest sportsmen in the world.

Following this, the mixed martial arts star had been ordered by an Irish court not to share the CCTV footage which was used in the civil case against him. Last month in January, the High Court in Dublin released an order directing McGregor not to disseminate the footage and to give back or destroy any copies he had but they suspect that the UFC star has one of the copies preserved with him.

McGregor assures he deleted CCTV copies

The High Court heard today that McGregor has filed an affidavit where he assured that he had deleted all the copies of the CCTV and does not have a single things in his possession. The UFC star has been ordered to make a sworn statement telling in detail how he deleted the footage. Since the court and victim are not convinced, he may face an application for his cross-examination in the same connection.

Victim Nikita Hand also won her claim for damages against McGregor as the 35-year-old was awarded the costs after a trial that lasted for three weeks last year. As far as the CCTV footage is concerned, it shows McGregor, Hand, second named defendant James Lawrence and Hand’s friend sitting in the car in parking and the lift of hotel on the day of the incident.

The footage, which was played multiple times during the trial, displays stuff before the incident and after the UFC star assaulted Hand. The case will be back in court on March 6.

Nikita Hand accused UFC star Conor McGregor of raping her inside a hotel loo in Dublin back in December 2018. She then filed a rape case against him.  UFC Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
