New Delhi: It seems the Indian Railways is all set to introduce the country’s first 20 coach Vande Bharat train on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route. The DRM Ahmedabad posted a video of the Orange beauty running at a speed of 130 KM during its trial run, while passing through Maninagar level crossing on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route. The train run will include testing of track parameters, signalling aspects and other features.
If the trial run is successful, the Railways will soon introduce the 20 coach Vande Bharat on this and other busy routes. The occupancy rate in Vande Bharat Express is very high on Mumbai-Ahmedabad route.

20902 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express starts its journey from Mumbai Central (MMCT) at 3:00 pm and reaches Ahmedabad Jn (ADI) at 8:25 pm. The train halts at following stations – Borivali (BVI), Vapi (VAPI), Surat (ST), before reaching its final destination, Vadodara Jn (BRC).
The 22962 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express starts its journey from Ahmedabad at 6:10 am and reaches Mumbai Central at 11:35 am.
Vande Bharat Express Sleeper
Several reports have claimed that the first Vande Bharat sleeper train will be rolled out in 2024. this year. The trial runs of the Vande Bharat sleeper train are expected to start from mid August. Indian Railways is likely to introduce the new-state of art train on Delhi to Mumbai route. Notably, this route is considered one if the very busy train route in India.
The train is expected to comprise of 16 coaches, out of which 10 will be third AC, four will be reserved for second AC class, and one coach will be reserved for the first AC. The sleeper version of the Vande Bharat train is also likely to have two Seating cum Luggage Rake (SLR) coaches. However, nothing is confirmed.
