New Delhi: Cristiano Ronaldo found the net again in his first appearance in the AFC Champions League Elite match as his aside Al-Nassr beat Al Rayyan 2-1 in the group match at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyad, Saudi Arabia. Ronaldo’s goal helped Al Nassr’s new manager, Stefano Pioli, achieve success on his first outing in the now-revamped AFC Champions League.
Al Nassr’s captain had a goal disallowed earlier due to an offside call during the start of the second half. However, Ronaldo’s skills and experience were on full display when he scored the crucial second goal for his side in the 76th minute. The five-time UEFA Champions League winner made a brilliant left-footed strike after a pass from Abdulrahman Ghareeb.

Ronaldo has been in good touch for his Saudi Pro League side, scoring crucial goals and delivering every time his side has been in a spot of bother. This victory puts Al Nassr in the 3rd of the points table with points from two games in the league. They drew their opening game against Al Shorta, where Ronaldo wasn’t part of the side due to viral fever.
Al Nassr will face Al Orobah in an important game in the Saudi League. They are currently second in the competition, sitting just four points behind Al Hilal. Ronaldo was in good touch from the start of the game, having come close to scoring twice in the starting 15 minutes of the match, but Brazilian goalkeeper Paolo Victor was outstanding in defending the former Real Madrid star’s threats.
In the second half, with one goal behind, Al Rayyan came to the pitch much more composed and had a better grip on the game. The hosts kept cutting spaces for their opponents to ensure that Al Nassr were forced to take a narrow approach. With a goal in the 87th minute from Roger Guedes, it still wasn’t enough to deny Al Nassr a win.
Ronaldo’s 76th minute goal ensures Al Nassr win 2-1 against Al Rayyan and give new manager Stefano Pioli victory on debut in AFC Champions League. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
