New Delhi: Dane Paterson displayed his exceptional skills with the ball claiming his second fifer in the red-ball format to dent Pakistan on the opening day of the Centurion Test. Paterson picked five big wickets of the visitors as they folded for just 211 in 57.3 overs in their first innings. This was the second consecutive fifer for the South Africa bowler.
Paterson was effective enough at the SuperSport Park sending off players like Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Salman Agha back to the pavilion. While he led the pack of the bowlers for the Proteas, doing the majority of the work, Corbin Bosch did the rest on the other side claiming the other four wickets. Marco Jansen, who bowled a tidy spell, also contributed with a wicket.

Kamran Ghulam leads Pakistan batting
Kamran Ghulam was the lone warrior in the Pakistan batting line up as he came up with a calm and composite knock of 54 runs off 71 balls. He stood on the crease for a while showing exuberance at his best as wickets kept tumbling from the other end. Apart from his half-century knock, Aamer Jamal showed some resistance against fine Proteas bowlers with 28-run knock while Rizwan looked well set on 27 before losing his wicket.
Babar Azam failed yet again as he could just muster 4 runs 11 deliveries. The star Pakistan batter looked promising after he hit a boundary but could not sustain after that. The Proteas would be looking to work hard on the opportunity, after bowling out the opposition for 211 runs, and accumulate a considerable lead in their first their innings over the Men in Green. While the Proteas won the T20I series 2-0, Pakistan bounced back in the ODI leg clean sweeping South Africa 3-0.
