New Delhi: Delhi Capitals made some eye-catching buys at the IPL 2025 mega-auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Capitals will enter the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a revamped squad that includes plenty of new faces. KL Rahul and Mitchell Starv were among the big buys for the Capitals, who also bought the likes of Harry Brook and Faf du Plessis.
Rahul and Starc were the two bargain buys at Rs 14 crore and 11.75 crore respectively on Day 1 of the IPL 2025 auction. Former Sunrisers duo Brook and T Natarajan also went to the Capitals squad, which also includes the likes of Jake Fraser-McGurk, Karun Nair, Sameer Rizvi, Ashutosh Sharma and Mohit Sharma.
Ahead of the mega-auction, the Capitals (DC) had retained all-rounder Axar Patel, left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav, South African top-order Tristan Stubbs and young uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Abhishek Porel.
Former RCB skipper Faf du Plessis, who went unsold in the first round of bidding, was snapped up by the Capitals in the second round. Meanwhile, Karun Nair, who has been out of favour in the last few seasons, was sold to DC for Rs 50 lakh. Former CSK and DC pacer Mohit Sharma and ex-Punjab Kings batter Ashutosh Sharma bagged big bucks.
