It is possible for men to freeze their sperm for use in the future (embracing fatherhood later in life) or to donate to someone else’s treatment. After donation, the sperm will be isolated for over 4 to 7 months and monitored for infections before being it by the recipient. The length of the procedure of isolation is based on the type of screening tests done by the doctor.”

Know about the sperm-freezing procedure
If a man has decided to opt for the sperm freezing procedure then he will be tested for any infectious diseases like HIV and hepatitis to avoid the contamination of the samples. You will also have to undergo blood tests suggested by the doctor. The fertility consultant will take your consent before the procedure. The expert will ask you for a fresh sample of sperm which will be later combined with a special fluid (a cryoprotectant) to protect the sperm from damage during freezing. Before freezing, the sperm sample will be divided into several containers called straws. The sperm needs to be thawed at once and can be used in various treatments.
