The incident, which has sent shockwaves through military circles, reportedly occurred while the soldiers were under the influence of alcohol. The ground crew, who had just completed servicing the AH-64 gunship belonging to the Army Air Corps, noticed unusual movements and sounds. They observed the £8.5 million (approximately ₹75 crore) helicopter swaying unnaturally.

While fitting rain covers over the aircraft, the crew became aware of strange noises emanating from the helicopter. Upon closer inspection, they found that two individuals were crammed inside the two-seater cockpit, engaging in sexual activity.

Both individuals were found partially naked from the waist down. The male soldier was reportedly still in uniform, while the female was wearing casual attire. They were instructed to put on their clothes and exit the helicopter.

A report submitted to the Military Aviation Authority confirmed the details of the incident: “It became apparent the rear cockpit was occupied by two people engaged in sexual intercourse. Both were naked from the waist down— the male was still in uniform; the female was dressed casually.”
