New Delhi: A disturbing incident has surfaced where a police officer shot dead a dog in front of two kids and his owner in United States Davenport City.
A video of the incident has surfaced showing the Davenport police officer shooting the dog dead, however, this extreme step could have been avoided. What was gruesome in this bone chilling incident that all this happened in front of two kids and dog’s owner, who were traumatised after police officer’s action.
More than 1,500 people have signed an online petition that demands accountability for a Davenport Police officer who shot and killed a family dog.
The Police said that the dog was aggressive. The dog’s owner says the 2-year-old named dog Myst was his best buddy.
In a post on X, dog’s owner shared the video of the incident and explained the entire scene saying, “I’m the owner of that dog, and that’s my family. To provide more context: The kids were playing in the alley with the dog when a call came in for a cop to be dispatched, many blocks away. The officer happened to be driving by and told my son and his cousin to take the dog inside, which they were doing. Instead of continuing his pursuit of the four dogs at large, the officer decided to instigate an unnecessary altercation that ultimately could have been avoided…”
