New Delhi: Two second-half goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Francisco Conceicao enabled Portugal to complete a turnaround in their 2-1 victory over Germany in the first UEFA Nations League semi-final at the Munich Football Arena.
It was Portugal first win over Germany in 25 years and first win on away soil since a World Cup qualifier in Stuttgart in October 1985.
On his 220th international appearance, Ronaldo netted his 137th international goal as Portugal came from behind to beat Germany on Wednesday.
The 40-year-old Portugal captain became the oldest player to score against Germany and ending a streak of losinf all his previous five games he’d played against Germany.
It was Portugal’s first win against Germany since Francisco’s father Sergio Conceica scored a hat-trick in a 3-0 win at Euro 2000.
