Mumbai: The BSE and NSE are expected to open the exchanges for Diwali on November 1, 2024, between 6:15 and 7:15 pm. Stock exchanges conduct a special trading session, also called the Muhurat trading session on Diwali. This is considered auspicious since business worship goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha, are considered to be the deities of wealth and are worshipped on this day.
Muhurat Trading is available for one hour on Diwali day. Since Diwali is also the onset of the Hindu New Year, traders will conduct token trades to mark this auspicious date. Muhurat trading session coincides with Lakshmi Pujan on Diwali day. Muhurat trading allows same-day settlement with a 15-minute pre-opening window and closing session in which all trades are settled.
