Drew McIntyre reveals ‘the best match of his career’ in WWE

New Delhi: Ever since Drew McIntyre was pushed to the main roster of the WWE in 2020, he has gone through some of the most notable battles in the WWE that have received acclaim from several fans and critics alike. In the midst of all, McIntyre himself recently opened up on the match that he believes is the best of his career. He revealed it all in an interview and also reasoned what makes him think that it is the best.

It was back in last April during WrestleMania 39 when McIntyre took on Sheamus and Gunther in a triple-threat Intercontinental Championship match. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, McIntyre was full of praise for himself and the two of his competitors for the triple threat outing the troika had in the grandest stage of all in the WWE.

“Probably is the best match of my career. How can you top being at WrestleMania, having a match that people will say is one of the greatest Mania matches of all time, and perhaps the greatest triple threat of all time?” McIntyre said as quoted by Wrestling Inc. According to him, the live crowd promptly expressed their zeal for the game even before the competitors had come close to their peak.

“Not even 10 minutes into the match, the crowd went crazy and chanting, I believe, ‘This is awesome,’. I was like, ‘Wow, we’re not even getting started,’” McIntyre added.

McIntyre, Sheamus’ singles match dream

McIntyre also went on to describe how he and Sheamus had always dreamt of a singles match at WrestleMania and were able to live that dream at WrestleMania 39. According to the 39-year-old, the “story” of the match was cool as Gunther disappeared for a while and he and Sheamus both went back and forth for ten straight minutes. It was almost as if both were in a singles match at that point.

In the WrestleMania 40, McIntyre defeated Seth Rollins at the event to win his third WWE World Championship, while Sheamus was a major absentee from the card. He couldn’t hold the title for longer as he lost it to Damian Priest, a development that has put him head-to-head with CM Punk in recent times.

In a recent interview, Drew McIntyre opened up on the best match of his WWE career, also giving out reasons which made it one of his favourite outings in the ring.  WWE Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
