Ed Sheeran had revealed that he was a close friend of legendary Australia spinner Warne who died of a heart attack at 52 in 2022.
It was Warne who led the Royals to a maiden title win in the inaugural edition of IPL 2008. Following his retirement as a player, the iconic spinner served as the team mentor.
After the conclusion of the ‘Mathematics Tour’ in India, Sheeran will perform in Doha, Qatar, and Sakhir, Bahrain.
Parag, Deshpande join the fun
Ed Sheeran was joined by swashbuckling batter Riyan Parag and pace bowler Tushar Deshpande in the nets and the Englishman stayed true to his English roots and impressed the Royals duo with good bat swing. Parag, in, particular, was left impressed with Sheeran’s batting skills.
“He’s got a good swing,” Parag said after watching the Englishman’s natural flair with the bat. Before departing from the camp in Bengaluru, Ed made a sweet gesture by gifting English Premier League club Ipswich Town’s jerseys to Parag and Deshpande. The players also posed for photos with the musician while holding the iconic jersey of Rajasthan Royals.
