New Delhi: At an age of just 28, Abhishek Bawa from Haryana has become a notable name in the world of badminton coaching. Bawa’s aim to get more experience to master badminton skills and impart the same in his students is a testament to sheer hard work and passion for the sport. The young badminton coach has gained prominence particularly in Maldives and Europe, where the performance of his students at varied events has been exemplary.
2022 a pivotal year in Bawa’s career
While he never shies away from the fact that he’s still a learner of the sport, his coaching prowess explains a different story. 2022 proved to a pivotal year in Bawa’s career when his students started winning in European Nations including Slovenia, Estonia, Croatia, Italy, Poland, Saudi Arabia, and Czech Republic won the National Tournaments with more than 12 medals in international category.
In almost one and a half year, the students bagged these medals in one of the most prestigious and well-known badminton tournaments in the region. With a good show in the European countries, the brigade is also expanding its reach in all over Europe, Asia and other parts of the world, setting a trend for the generations to come by bagging plethora of medals.
Not only this, the Sport Minister of Maldives appointed Bawa as the personal coach for his daughter and within just one and half year, the coach showcased results by bagging 15 medals worldwide and 12 medals in National circuit. The promising coach has also worked for a club in Maldives, where he trained budding badminton players who eventually won medals nationally as well as on international podium.
With an aim to take his players on the Olympic podium and fulfill his vision and goal, Bawa is currently playing in the USA to enhance his experience in order to elevate his badminton skills.
