New Delhi: The 2024-25 domestic cricket season in India is set to begin on September 5 with the prestigious Duleep Trophy. Likes of Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Ruturaj Gaikwad will participate in the Duleep Trophy.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah extended his best wishes to all the participating players and said that the tournament is an essential platform for preparation and seizing opportunities. Shah further added that there’s something special about the red ball cricket and it’s great to see the season starting on a strong note. He also said that it’s a great start to domestic season as some of the finest India’s longer-format player will go head-to-head.

It’s an exciting start as four teams, featuring some of the finest longer-format cricketers in the country will go head to head. With a packed red ball calendar ahead for Team India, this tournament is an essential platform for preparation and seizing opportunities.

Suryakumar to miss entire Duleep Trophy, Ishan Kishan out from first round
India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav suffered a hand injury during the Buchi Babu tournament and will miss the entire Duleep Trophy 2024. While, as per Cricbuzz reports, Ishan Kishan will also miss the first round of the tournament and the reason for his unavailability is still unclear.
Earlier, Ravindra Jadeja was released from the tournament while pace bowlers Umran Malik and Mohammed Siraj won’t participate in the tournament due to their recovery from recent illness.
