New Delhi: France captain Kylian Mbappe suffered a nose injury during his side’s win against Austria at the Merkur Spiel Arena, Dusseldorf in Euro 2024 on Tuesday. Mbappe had a collision with Austrian defender Kevin Danso and the striker fell to the ground with a bleeding nose.
The referee didn’t let Les Blues make any substitution immediately as France played with 10 men temporarily. He was replaced by Oliver Giroud in the 90th minute of the game.
Didier Deschamps said after the match that Mbappe is not doing well and his nose got badly injured “He’s not doing well. He’s with the medical staff. I cannot tell you anything else. His nose got badly hit. We need to check that out. It is just really unfortunate right now”.
