New Delhi: Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowling coach Allan Donald wants Indian superstars Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah to join SA20 – South Africa’s premier T20 league competition. While BCCI’s rules don’t allow Indian players to join overseas leagues, Donald, the SA20 ambassador, wishes to see the star Indian pair grace the South African T20 stage one day.
Dinesh Karthik, who retired from international cricket earlier this year, joined the SA20 as he is not bound by BCCI’s rules. He will play for Paarl Royals in the upcoming edition of the SA20. The season 3 of the T20 league will be played from January 9 to February 8, 2025.

Speaking to Indian media in a group interaction, Donald said that he would love to see Kohli and Bumrah showcase their skills in front of South African fans in the future. According to Donald, the participation of the Indian superstars will take SA20 to unimaginable heights.
Donald also hailed the move to sign Karthik for SA20 and termed the former India wicket-keeper batter as a legend of the game. Donald, widely regarded as one of the best fast bowlers of his generation, labelled Karthik as an intelligent cricketer and praised his commentating skills.
