New Delhi: Actor and breast cancer survivor Chhavi Mittal in a recent post on Instagram opened up about her health struggles that she has been going through. Taking to her Instagram, she revealed that is suffering from a condition called Lupus (SLE) that has resurfaced in many of her photos that were posted recently. Following this the actor shared a series of pictures with a closer glimpse of lupus spots on her arms.
Mittal in her caption mentioned how she is not able to control her health issues even after trying her best. She noted, that her Lupus (SLE) rash has been coming back and it feels frustrating that she cannot put her finger on what causes these flare-ups. Elaborating further about the condition, she wrote, that she has 100 such rashes on her body now spreading from her neck, back, arms, chest and stomach but she has no idea what is causing them. While, the actor also opted for an alternate medicine but that too has failed and due to this, she has started taking steroids again, which has also not shown any positive results.
Chhavi was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in 2022 and earlier this year, she had completely recovered and was working towards her fitness goals.

What is Lupus (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus)?
According to the Cleveland Clinic, Lupus is an autoimmune disease that makes the body’s immune system damage the organs and tissues across your body. It causes inflammation that can affect the skin, joints, blood and organs like the kidneys, lungs and heart.
Lupus usually causes symptoms throughout the body depending on which organ or system it affects. Sometimes the symptoms usually come and go in waves called flare-ups. During a flare-up, the symptoms can be severe enough to affect the daily routine.
