New Delhi: Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria brutally slammed Shahid Afridi for his ‘extremist’ views after his controversial comments on the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam last week. Afridi made bizarre, unfounded claims about the terrorist attack that left 26 dead and several injured.
Terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists at the Baisaran meadows in Pahalgam. The ghastly terror attack sent shockwaves across the nation, leaving millions enraged. The Indian government has taken several strict diplomatic steps against Pakistan in the wake of the terror attack after The Resistance Force (TRF), a Pakistani terrorist group linked with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), claimed responsibility for it.
Kaneria lashed out at Afridi over his controversial remarks on the Pahalgam terror attack and said the former Pakistan all-rounder has consistently aligned himself with extremist views. He also urged the Indian media to boycott Afridi and reminded everyone of the time when the former Pakistan all-rounder tried to persuade him to convert to Islam.
“He has consistently aligned himself with extremist views. In my opinion, he should not be given a platform on Indian television or within the country. Additionally, he tried to persuade me to convert to Islam and declined to share a meal with me, which I found deeply disrespectful,” Kaneria said in a post on X.

In a recent interview to the Pakistani media, Afridi made some absurd remarks while speaking about the Pahalgam terror attack. Afridi questioned the Indian Army and accused India of blaming Pakistan.
“Patakha phat jaata hai wahaa par, Pakistan ne kiya. Tum logo ki 8 lakh ki fauj hai Kashmir mein aur ye ho gaya. Iska matlab nalayak ho, nikamme ho na tum log ki security nahi de sake logo ko. (India blames Pakistan even if a cracker bursts there. They have a 8-lakh strong army in Kashmir and still the attack happened, this means they are useless),” said Afridi.
