New Delhi: Mahatma Gandhi was one of the leading figures in the history of the Indian freedom movement who pioneered the non-violence struggle against the British Raj, something which inspired people around the world including prominent personalities like Martin Luther King Jr. and Barack Obama. The ‘Father of the Nation’ lead the successful campaign for India’s independence from British rule. However, despite his immense contribution to our country, Gandhi’s life ended in a tragic way. The assassination of John F. Kennedy

John F Kennedy was the US President and the youngest man ever elected to the presidency of the country. On November 22, 1963, he was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald while riding in a motorcade in Dallas. Harvey was arrested and on November 24, while he was being transferred from a jail cell to an interrogation office, Oswald was shot by Jack Ruby, the owner of a nightclub in Dallas.

Abraham Lincoln was the President of the US who led the America during the Civil War and brought about the emancipation of the slaves. Lincoln is one of the greatest names in the history of the US and on April 15, 1865, he was shot by John Wilkes Booth while he was watching a play in a theatre.

The murder of Archduke Franz Ferdinand is one of the most impactful in the history of the world. He was next in succession to the Austro-Hungarian throne after his father, who died in 1896. He was assassinated on August 15, 1975, along with most of his family members in a military coup.
