New Delhi: Arshad Nadeem has become the cynosure of all eyes in Pakistan after his recent heroics in the Paris Olympics 2024. Nadeem created history at the Paris Games as he became the first-ever athlete from Pakistan to win an individual gold medal at the Olympics. Nadeem beat India’s Golden Boy Neeraj Chopra in the men’s javelin final to clinch the elusive gold medal.
Nadeem finished on the top of the podium with a mammoth throw of 92.97m which also saw him shatter the Olympic record. He returned home to a grand reception at the airport and has been showered with gifts and cash rewards from the government, businessmen and others after his magnificent achievement. People have also been flocking in huge numbers to his house in Pakistan’s Mian Channu to meet and greet the Olympic champion.
Some fans have also been handing out cash rewards to Nadeem in person while meeting him at his home. A video has gone viral on social media where a fan can be seen giving cash in person to Nadeem while meeting him and posing for a photograph with the men’s javelin throw champion. In the video, the fan also asks the Pakistani government to hand the announced cash reward to Nadeem like he did.
“I urge the (Pakistan) government to hand over cash rewards to Arshad the way I did. Often promises are made, but money isn’t delivered..he’s worthy of rewards,” said the fan.

Arshad Nadeem awarded 10 million PKR and a car
The Punjab and Sindh governments in Pakistan have announced a total of 150 million PKR in cash reward for Nadeem. Punjab (Pakistan) province’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz presented Nadeem with a cash reward of 10 million PKR (INR 30.14 lakh approximately) and a Honda Civic car on behalf of the government.
The car awarded to Nadeem has a special number plate of 92.97, in honour of his Olympic record throw which clinched him the gold medal at the Paris Games. The Pakistan javelin star, who comes from a humble background, bagged the first Olympic medal for his country since the Barcelona Games in 1992 and Pakistan’s first Olympic gold medal since Los Angeles in 1984.
In a video going viral on social media, a Pakistani fan can be seen handing out cash to Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem in person. While posing for a photograph after handing him the cash, the person says the Pakistan government should hand out the cash reward to Nadeem like he did.
