New Delhi: Team India star Virat Kohli enjoys massive popularity across the globe. Despite never having played in Pakistan, Kohli is admired by millions across the border and the fans’ love for him knows no bounds. A fan in Pakistan was recently spotted waving Kohli’s iconic no.18 jersey during the match between Pakistan limited-overs captain Babar Azam’s team Stallions and Markhors in the ongoing Champions One Day Cup.

Babar is the current superstar in the Pakistan team and has often earned comparisons with Kohli courtesy of his consistency with the bat. A clip has gone viral on social media which shows a fan flaunting Kohli’s jersey during Mohammad Rizwan-led Markhors’ innings against Babar starrer Stallions at the Pakistan skipper’s home ground in Faisalabad.

In the video, Markhors’ batters Salman Agha and Iftikhar Ahmed can be seen batting together in the 29th over of their side’s innings. After Salman hit a boundary on the third delivery of the over from Mehran Mumtaz, the cameras panned towards a fan, who was spotted waving Kohli’s no.18 India jersey in the air. The fan’s act soon went viral on social media.

Babar Azam’s Stallions face heavy defeat

Markhors thrashed Stallions by 126 runs in the game after successfully defending the total of 231 runs. Batting first, Markhors rode on half-centuries from Salman (51) and Iftikhar (60) to post 231 runs on the board. Zahid Mahmood’s fifer helped Markhors bundle out the Stallions for a low-key 105 runs in their run-chase to wrap up a huge victory.

Babar was the only silver lining for Stallions in an otherwise disappointing batting performance. The Pakistan white-ball skipper scored 45 runs off 45 balls to top-score for his team in their run-chase. However, his efforts were not enough to get his team over the line. Babar, who has been enduring a rough patch recently, has so far managed 121 runs in two matches for his team at an average of over 60.
