‘Fast bowler tipper lorry hai’: Ashwin on Bumrah’s ‘fittest cricketer’ remark – WATCH

New Delhi: Known for bamboozling the batters with his deceptive deliveries on the 22 yards, Ravichandran Ashwin also holds the prowess of stumping his opponents off the field with his witty remarks. Ashwin’s intelligence is reflected both in his on-field and off-field personalities.

Be it his batting, bowling, fielding, game awareness or his analysis of players and matches on his official YouTube channel, Ashwin always impresses with his sensible and logical reasoning.

In a recent video that is going viral on social media, Ashwin, on his Hindi Youtube Channel, backed Jasprit Bumrah against the trolls who have been posting negative comments on  Bumrah for declaring himself as the “fittest” player in the team recently at an event. Ashwin said the Bumrah is the crown jewel of Indian cricket and he can say whatever he wants.

‘Bumrah is the crown jewel of India’

Ashwin termed Bumrah as the crown jewel and Kohinoor of Indian cricket and encouraged him to say whatever he wanted. He heaped more praise on the Indian pacer and said after Kapil Dev no Indian bowler has been bigger than Bumrah.

He also explained the difference between a fast bowler and other players by giving an interesting analogy.

‘Fast bowler is a tipper lorry’

“People want to say that he got injured, how is he the fittest cricketer? There is a lot of difference. One is a tipper lorry and one is a Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz can be driven carefully, it’s chauffeur-driven. Tipper Lorry has to move from north to south with so much load. Fast bowler ek Tipper Lorry hai (A fast bowler is a tipper lorry), they will break down. He has come back from a stress fracture and is bowling at 145 km/h. Give him credit,” Ashwin added.
