FD interest rates: What SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, PNB are offering

New Delhi: Fixed Deposits (FDs) are considered to be safe and secured investment options as they ensure guaranteed returns. FD interest rates may differ depending upon the bank/lender the tenure of the scheme and the amount an individual is investing.

Let’s see what banks, including State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Punjab National Bank (PNB), are offering on their FDs.

SBI FD interest rates

SBI is offering 3.50 per cent to 7.10 per cent interest rates on Fixed Deposit plans to general citizens and 4 per cent to 7.60 per cent to senior citizens. It may be noted that SBI’s popular Amrit Kalash scheme – which is ending on September 30, 2024, provides interest rate of 7.10 per cent. Senior Citizens get 7.60 per cent return.

HDFC Bank FD interest rates

HDFC Bank is offering interest rates between 3 per cent to 7.35 per cent for general citizens on its FD schemes. Senior citizens are entitled to receive 0.50 per cent extra. The country’s largest private sector bank is offering 7.25 per cent and 7.75 per cent on fixed deposits of 2 years 11 months – 35 months tenure.

ICICI Bank FD rates

ICICI Bank is offering 6.70 per cent interest rates for fixed deposit tenure of 1 year to 15 months. The country’s second largest private sector bank is giving 7.25 per cent on FD tenure of 15 months and 18 months. The bank is giving 7.25 per cent on FD plan for 18 months to 2 years.

PNB FD rates

PNB revised its interest rates on its FD plans with effect from August 1, 2024. The public sector bank is giving an interest rate between 3.50 per cent to 7.25 per cent to general citizens and senior citizens are being offered 0.50 per cenr more, i.e., 4 per cent to 7.75 per cent. The lender is offering the highest interest rate of 7.25% and 7.75% on a tenure of 400 days.
