New Delhi: Bangladesh spinner Rishad Hossain recently revealed how the overseas stars reacted on reaching Dubai after the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 was postponed indefinitely amid the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the postponement of PSL 2025 on Friday, the day BCCI confirmed that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was suspended for a week.

Rishad revealed that the overseas players who were stuck in Pakistan after the postponement of the PSL were relieved after reaching Dubai on Saturday. Rishad was part of the Lahore Qalandars squad in the PSL 2025 and was one of the two Bangladeshi players part of the league, alongside Nahid Rana, who was playing for Peshawar Zalmi.

Rishad revealed New Zealand batting all-rounder Daryl Mitchell told him that he would never ‘return to Pakistan’ again after witnessing the horrific situation in the country. Pakistan was in chaos after the Indian armed forces conducted ‘Operation Sindoor’, launching precision strikes to target terrorist outfits in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJ&K), in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

The tensions between the two nations intensified after Pakistan violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LOC) and targeted several border areas across north and northwest India with drone and missile attacks, which were successfully intercepted by the Indian air defense and the Indian army.

Tom Curran started crying: Rishad Hossain

Rishad revealed the overseas players were left horrified after being stuck in Pakistan as they were not able to leave for their respective countries due to air operations getting suspended across multiple airports in the country. The Bangladesh spinner revealed England pacer Tom Curran was deeply affected and cried like a child.

“Foreign players like Sam Billings, Daryl Mitchell, Kushal Perera, David Wiese, Tom Curran… all of them were so frightened… Landing in Dubai, Mitchell told me that he would never go to Pakistan again, especially in this kind of scenario. Overall, they were all horrified,” Rishad was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz at the Dubai airport.

“He (Tom Curran) went to the airport, but heard that the airport was closed. Then he started crying like a little child, that it took two or three people to handle him,” he added.

Rishad revealed he was relieved to have reached Dubai safely as the players heard the news of a missile striking the Lahore airport, minutes after their flight took off from there. The Bangladesh spinner said his family was deeply worried and spent sleepless nights, worrying about the safety of the player.

“Alhamdulillah, we have reached Dubai after overcoming a crisis, and I am feeling well now. After landing in Dubai when we heard that a missile struck the airport 20 minutes after we took off from the airport. The news was scary as well as sorrowful and now after reaching Dubai we are feeling relieved,” he said, adding that his family spent some sleepless nights,” said the Bangladesh spinner.
