‘Feels like I’ve lost someone from my family’: Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav remembers Shane Warne

New Delhi: Kuldeep Yadav is currently in Australia on a short trip and he recently visited Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). During the visit, the Indian spinner posed for a picture with the statue of the legendary spinner Shane Warne.

Kuldeep shared a wonderful bond with his idol Shane Warne and he talked about his relationship with the Australian legend. He said that Warne is his idol and he had a strong connection with him.
“Shane Warne was my idol, and I had a very strong connection with him. I still get emotional when I think about Warne, It feels like I’ve lost someone from my family” Kuldeep Yadav said.

Kuldeep visited the MCG and looked at the facilities of the iconic stadium. He also visited Cricket Australia’s headquarters where CEO Nick Hockley welcomed him through an online interaction.

Kuldeep was part of Team India’s successful T20 World Cup campaign as they ended the long-standing ICC trophy drought after defeating South Africa in Barbados. After that, he played for India in the three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka and took four wickets.

Kuldeep is currently enjoying his break and will soon be in action in the Duleep Trophy 2024. He’s been picked in the Team A, which is led by Shubman Gill. The red-ball competition will kickstart India’s domestic season with the national selectors keeping a close eye ahead of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh at home, starting on September 19.

‘Looking forward to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy’: Kuldeep Yadav

Team India will face Australia in the five-match Test series, starting on November 22. Kuldeep said that he’s looking forward to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the team is anticipating a great contest this year.

“It’s great to be here at Cricket Australia’s headquarters and the iconic MCG. I’m looking forward to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and we’re anticipating a great cricket contest between Australia and India this year” Kuldeep said.

“India cricket fans always support the team around the globe, and I’m confident they will come in big numbers for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, especially during the Boxing Day Test” he added.
