‘Felt valued’: Former Team India physio lauds Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid in farewell post

New Delhi: Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid not only have hearts of gold but are also respectful of other’s opinions in the team, said the Indian cricket team’s former physio Kamlesh Jain.

Part of the T20 World Cup winning team, Jain wrote highly of Rohit and Dravid, the skipper and head coach duo who led India to glory in Barbados last month.

Rohit has since retired from T20Is following India’s first major title victory in 11 years along with Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja.

Dravid has also left his post and has been replaced by Gautam Gambhir whose first assignment would be the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka across July and August.

Jain praised Rohit and Dravid’s ability to manage the players and always putting the good of the collective over individual interests.

“As I stand Sandwiched between two of the most selfless individuals one could hope to work with. I want to pen down that their cricketing achievements—runs, catches, wickets, stumpings, leadership abilities, and skill sets—are impressive, but what truly sets them apart is their respect for everyone’s opinions and their ability to make each person feel valued,” Jain wrote in his post on social media.

“’Team’ is at the heart of every conversation and meeting that they are involved with. These individuals have hearts of gold and a mind of wisdom and spent countless memorable hours discussing how to continually improve our team.

“Even after significant victories, their focus remains on what we could have done better. Every member of our fraternity owes them immense gratitude for this triumph,” he added.
