New Delhi: After a terrifying collapse that forced the team to postpone Sunday’s match against champions Inter Milan, Fiorentina informed that midfielder Edoardo Bove is stable in the hospital. According to the club, the 22-year-old Italian abruptly collapsed on the ground 16 minutes into the goalless match and is presently sedated in the critical care unit at Florence’s Careggi Hospital.
“Severe damage to his central nervous system and cardio-respiratory functions has been ruled out by initial cardiological and neurological tests,” Fiorentina and the hospital said in a joint statement. Bove’s status will be reevaluated “in the next 24 hours,” the club noted. He is currently accompanied by his family and teammates, who hurried to his help and were seen crying as he was carried off the pitch at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
How are Fiorentina players reacting to Bove’s condition?
Bove arrived in a stable condition, meaning his heart and blood circulation were functioning properly. Initial tests on his heart and brain showed no signs of serious damage, like a heart attack or stroke.

Christian Eriksen’s fall during a 2020 European Championship match between Denmark and Finland and the untimely death of former Fiorentina captain Davide Astori, who died in his sleep at the age of 31 in March 2018 at a hotel prior to a league match against Udinese, were both brought to mind by Bove’s collapse.
Fiorentina star goalkeeper, David de Gea posted the words “God please” on social media, prompting support from a number of teams, including Roma, Bove’s parent club, from whom he was loaned to Fiorentina in August.
“One of us, we’re all with you. Forza Edo!”, Bove’s former side, Roma conveyed their concerns in a message. Evan Ndicka collapsed in a similar event during Roma’s match against Udinese in April, setting the precedent for the Inter vs. Fiorentina match to be delayed for “an as-yet-undetermined date.”
In the intensive care unit at Florence’s Careggi Hospital, Bove was sedated when he abruptly passed out on the turf sixteen minutes into the goalless match. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
