New Delhi: Formula One has announced their calendar for the 2026 season, with Imola being replaced by Madrid, making its debut in the F1. It will be the first season where 11 teams will compete, as Cadillac make their debut. It still is a 24-race calendar, approved by F1’s governing body, the FIA, during the World Motor Sport Council meeting on Tuesday. The Madrid race had already been announced in 2024, though the Gran Premio de Espana’s inclusion is still subject to FIA’s approval.
Aside from Madrid GP replacing the Emilia Romagna GP, the date for the Monaco race has been shifted to early June, as against late May scheduling. This is due to the Canadian GP taking place on the 22-24 May, in order to make the scheduling more streamlined and reduce carbon emissions.

The switch helps the Canadian GP come after Miami, in what F1 describes as increasing freight efficiencies with come equipment moving directly from one to the other venue. The idea is to have minimal intercontinental movements.
From the Monaco race in the first weekend of June to Madrid is a back-to-back race in Europe, followed by the Azerbaijan event on 25-27 September. The whole system ensures that it aligns with F1’s new rules, where revised engines run on completely sustainable fuels.
The season will kick off in Australia like this season on 6-8 March. The Bahrain GP, which is one of the usual opening races, is in April due to the holy month of Ramadan. The gap between the Chinese and Japanese GPs are two weeks, unlike this season. The season will also see the Dutch GP making its final appearance in the month of August. The Barcelona GP, which is the traditional Spanish GP, will also be fulfilling its final year in the current contract.
The season is going to end with three back-to-back races starting from the Las Vegas GP, followed by Qatar, before ending in Abu Dhabi, closing the season on 4-6 December.
Maintaining the self imposed 24 race a season limit, 2026 calendar sees Imola circuit getting replaced by Gran Premio de Espana circuit, as FIA’s aligns towards making the motorsport more sustainable. Sports Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
