New Delhi: The GSB Seva Mandal, located in the King’s Circle area of Mumbai, is set to mark its 70th Ganeshotsav celebration with unmatched splendour. This event, which draws both the general public and prominent personalities, will unfold over five days, from September 7 to September 11.

The GSB Seva Mandal has a long-standing tradition of securing extensive insurance coverage for its festivities, and this year is no exception. In 2022, the coverage was Rs 316.40 crore, increasing to Rs 360.40 crore in 2023. Now, in 2024, the Mandal has surpassed all previous records, securing an astonishing Rs 400.58 crore insurance cover through New India Assurance. This significant policy underscores the importance placed on the safety and security of the event, which continues to be a grand display of both wealth and devotion.

The 2024 Ganeshotsav at GSB Seva Mandal is not just about numbers; it’s a display of opulence. The Maha Ganpati idol, the centrepiece of the festival, is adorned with 66 kg of gold and 325 kg of pure silver, along with various other precious items. This lavish display has made the GSB Seva Mandal’s Ganeshotsav a topic of discussion not just in Mumbai, but globally.

Richest Ganesh Mandap in Mumbai

Amit Pai, the chairman of the mandap, revealed that the insurance coverage includes Rs 325 crores for personal accident coverage, benefiting volunteers, cooks, service personnel, valet parking security staff, and stall workers. An additional Rs 43.15 crores is covered by an all-risk policy, safeguarding against theft of gold, silver, and other valuables. Moreover, a Rs 2 crore standard fire and special peril policy with earthquake coverage has been taken to protect all items used during the five-day festivities, including fittings, furniture, CCTV cameras, QR scanners, and even groceries, fruits, and vegetables.

This year, the GSB Seva Mandal also allocated Rs 30 crores to public liability insurance, covering pandals, stadiums, and devotees attending the festival. Additionally, the venue premises are secured under a standard fire and special peril policy with a sum insured of Rs 43 lakhs, ensuring comprehensive safety for all attendees.

The GSB Seva Mandal distinguishes itself as the only mandal in Mumbai where rituals, including pooja, archana, seva, and annadaan, are conducted continuously, day and night. These sacred practices are rooted in the Rigveda and other ancient traditions, ensuring the spiritual essence of the Ganeshotsav is maintained without interruption.

As the 70th Ganeshotsav approaches, the GSB Seva Mandal remains a beacon of tradition, wealth, and spirituality, continuing to attract devotees and admirers from across the globe.
