New Delhi: Amid the escalating violence between Israel and Hezbollah forces in Lebanon, Olivier Rafowicz, IDF Spokesperson and Colonel (res.) highlighted the daily rocket launches that have turned life into a struggle for many Israelis.
Rafowicz while speaking to Republic Media Network, emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “The next day Hezbollah attacked directly Israel from Lebanon with trained rockets. We are a very small country, we were almost losing everything.”
The spokesperson pointed to Iran’s role in the conflict, asserting, “The Middle East army is fully equipped by Iran. This group has weapons like the army. The intention lags the intention of Hamas.”
Rafowicz expressed concern over the destabilizing influence of Iran and Iraq in the region, contrasting it with Israel’s efforts to seek peace.
Reflecting on the events of October 7 last year, Rafowicz recounted, “We were attacked by Hamas. Thousands were killed, women were raped, and then we had to start the war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.”
He noted that the next day, Hezbollah launched its own offensive against Israel, a situation that has continued without respite.
Despite the ongoing conflict, Rafowicz reiterated that Israel’s struggle is not against the Palestinian people, but specifically against Hezbollah and Hamas. He concluded with a message of resilience: “Israel is a small country but a very strong nation.”
