New Delhi: American actor Johnny Wactor, best known for portraying the character of Brando Corbin in General Hospital, was shot dead on Saturday (May 25, 2024) after he interrupted thieves stealing the catalytic converter from his car. The incident occurred around 3 am in Los Angeles.
It is being said that the 37-year-old star approached three men as he observed activity near his vehicle and thought it was being towed. This was when a mask-wearing suspect opened fire.
The Army Wives hunk was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical treatment, however, he succumbed to the injury. Three suspects drove away and fled the scene of the crime.

As soon as reports of Johnny Wactor’s sudden demise surfaced on the internet, netizens began flooding social media with messages of condolence. “Awesome as the character he played on GH, such a senseless death. I hope the guys are caught and prosecuted to the full extent. RIP Johnny,” an X (formerly known as Twitter) user posted. Another wrote, “I’m trying to wrap my head around this. I’m angry that this happened to a young man in his prime, who had a lot of positive things going for him. My condolences to everyone who loved him and whose lives he touched. May his soul rest well in Eternity!”
No arrests in Johnny Wactor death case
No arrests were reportedly made in the case as of late Sunday. His agency David Shaul was quoted as saying that Johnny Wactor was ‘a real moral example to everyone who knew him’.
Johnny Wactor appeared in various films and television series in his splendid career. He was best known for his performances in USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage and Supercell.
