While BookMyShow has not yet revealed specific ticket prices for the Ahmedabad concert, the pricing for their Mumbai shows in 2025 ranged from ₹2,500 to ₹35,000, with VIP lounge tickets priced at ₹35,000.
The high demand for Coldplay tickets, which sold out within minutes of going live for the Mumbai shows, has led to ticket resale issues, with unauthorised platforms reportedly listing tickets at inflated prices. This has drawn the attention of Maharashtra’s cyber wing, which issued a notice to BookMyShow to take stricter preventive actions, including implementing name-based ticketing to curb scalping.
Amid complaints, the Bombay High Court is now reviewing a public interest litigation (PIL) advocating for tighter controls against ticket scalping and black-market sales at major events like Coldplay’s tour.
Narendra Modi stadium capacity
The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad holds the title of the world’s largest cricket stadium, with a seating capacity of 1,32,000.
Originally known as the Motera Stadium, it was renamed in honour of India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The stadium is owned by the Gujarat Cricket Association and serves as a venue for both domestic and international cricket matches.
With its vast capacity and state-of-the-art facilities, the stadium has become a symbol of India’s cricketing heritage and its passion for the sport and other events like concerts.
Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres’ World Tour
Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour, launched in 2022, is among the band’s most extensive tours, taking their music to fans across the globe. This monumental tour has captivated audiences on multiple continents, delivering a cutting-edge and immersive experience with its futuristic themes and visually stunning stage designs.
The band last performed in the country in 2016, when they took part in the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai.
Coldplay retirement
In a conversation with Zane Lowe, Chris Martin shared that Coldplay plans to retire after producing 12 albums. This announcement has left fans wondering if the band will also end live tours. Martin clarified that, while he may work on creative projects with the other band members beyond their final album, it wouldn’t involve touring. “So if we do something together creatively beyond touring, it will be something different,” he explained.
He added that the decision to cap their discography at 12 albums was intentional, drawing inspiration from music icons like the Beatles and Bob Marley. Martin elaborated, saying, “We are only going to do 12 proper albums—that’s real. Setting a limit keeps the quality high, making it nearly impossible for a song to make the cut, which pushes us to improve.”
The band’s return has already sparked excitement among fans nationwide. The Ahmedabad show is expected to be one of the highlights of the Music of the Spheres World Tour, featuring innovative stage setups and a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere that will resonate with the city’s music lovers.
