New Delhi: The Q2 result of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the largest company of the business house that Ratan Tata helped to grow, threw up positive results as the salt-to-airline conglomerate mourned the death of its chairman emeritus. TCS’ Q2 profit rose 5 per cent year-on-year. TCS had reportedly cancelled its conference call earlier. However, the officials held the briefing post-result declaration as per the schedule.
Rata Tata died at the age of 86 after he was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital owing to a diagnosis for health-related ailments. He was given a Parsi sendoff with state honours on Thursday.
TCS’ profit surges 5%
TCS’ Q2 net profit for the July-September quarter rose 4.99 per cent year-on-year to Rs 11,909 crore, compared to Rs 11,342 crore during the same period a year ago, according to an exchange filing after market closing. To be sure, TCS’ new profit moderated on a quarterly basis. The IT behemoth reported an April-June net profit of Rs 12,040 crore.

The IT giant’s revenue rose 7.06 per cent to Rs 64,988 crore in Q2FY25 compared to Rs 60,698 crore in the year-ago period and compared to Rs 63,575 crore in the June quarter.
