Wellington: In a surprising move, an airport in New Zealand has introduced a time limit to goodbye hugs to your loved ones.
The international airport in Dunedin in the South Island has imposed a three-minute time limit on cuddles, as part of its broader effort to improve safety and keep traffic flowing at its drop-off zone.
As per reports, a sign erected in the airport’s drop-off zone reading: “Max hug time 3 minutes. For fonder farewells please use the car park.”
However, many travellers slammed the move and argued that the policy is overly restrictive and disregards the emotional significance of farewells, especially for people who might be embarking on long journeys or saying goodbye to loved ones for extended periods.
A user said wrote, “there is no time limit on human emotions.”
While another user asked, “Isn’t int inhuman?”.
Meanwhile, some others asked how the authorities were going to enforce this rule.
