Google Doodle celebrates skateboarding events at Paris Olympics 2024 [Details]

New Delhi: The 2024 Paris Summer Games officially began yesterday. 27 July 2024 (today), Google is marking the skateboarding events taking place at Place de La Concorde. To celebrate, Google has created a special animated doodle. This doodle shows a group of chickens skateboarding on the roof of a house, adding a fun and playful touch to the festivities.

Today’s Google Doodle highlights the skateboarding events for men at the Paris Summer Games. The competitions consist of two rounds: the men’s street preliminaries will take place in the afternoon, followed by the final round in the evening. Skateboarding is one of four new sports introduced at these games, joining breaking, surfing, and sports climbing, alongside the 28 traditional Olympic sports. This addition reflects the evolving nature of the Olympics, bringing in fresh and exciting events to complement the classic disciplines.

Athletes from over 200 countries are set to converge in the French capital for the Paris Olympics 2024, where they will compete in a total of 329 events across 32 different sports disciplines.

The Games officially commenced on July 26 and are scheduled to conclude on August 11. This year marks the 33rd edition of this prestigious event, continuing a long tradition of global sporting excellence and camaraderie.
