Grand feast for T20 champs at ITC Maurya: Cake, Chole Bhature and more

New Delhi: After their historic win, the Indian T20 cricket team checked in at ITC Maurya New Delhi, renowned for hosting global figures, celebrities, and heads of state due to its stellar security features. The players entered the hotel in New Delhi at 7:25 am on Thursday ahead of their meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the coach and ex-player Rahul Dravid.

The iconic ITC Maurya welcomed the victorious Men in Blue on the beats of dhol, offering an unparalleled experience including handcrafted in-room amenities, personalised photographs along edible chocolate in rich chocolate truffle cake with fondant icing.

A display of local love delicacies infused with the colours of the Indian jersey was also part of the bespoke setup. The array continued with homemade truffles, assorted chocolate-coated nuts, and a variety of savoury treats.

The set of personalised amenities in the room included many items such as Pistachio Nan khatai, cinnamon sugar palmier, charoli and paprika cheese twist, and sundried tomato and amaranth pinwheel. The boxes available in the room had a lot of personal touches such as hand-rolled chocolate truffle rolls, used local ingredients in jars like nan khatai made by ghee and besan, pinwheel made by puffed amaranth and cheese straw made with charoli nuts to make the players feel at home and loved.

The atmosphere was festive and what stole the limelight was a stunning 3-tier truffle cake, this culinary spectacle was designed to honour the team’s achievements and celebrate the pride of Indian cricket, symbolising their hard-earned victory.

There was a special breakfast menu created for each player to enjoy the delicacy and flavours of their go-to or favourite dish, like Virat Kohli was served delicious and lip-smacking chole bhature, along with Rohit Sharma enjoyed the burst of flavours from Mumbai with its Vada Pav and many other things.

The main star of the day was locally sourced ingredients which were used in the items prepared for the players at ITC Maurya. Jamuns, Himalayan berries and many other items were served to them during the welcome which were also hand-picked and locally sourced, she added.
