New Delhi: Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has lavished praise on Nitish Kumar Reddy for his mature knock on the first day of the second Test match against Australia at the Adelaide Oval. Reddy played a gritty knock of 42 runs off 54 balls as the visitors folded for a score of 180 runs in the second innings of the game.
Harbhajan, in particular, appreciated the Indian all-rounder for his few incredible shots that were very difficult to play. During a discussion on Star Sports, praised Reddy for playing as per the demands of the situation. He also praised the couple of sixes Reddy launched off Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland. The youngster smashed Starc for a six over cover and played a reverse sweep off the bowling of Boland.

Harbhajan Singh further said that Nitish Kumar exhibited his batting prowess in the longest format and unearthed his skills to the best of his abilities. Further praising the player, he said that Reddy knows how to adapt as per the situations and that’s exactly what he did today. He was required to build some partnerships and he made his efforts of doing the same with couple of his team members.
Meanwhile, India overall could not show up well as they bundled out for just 180 runs in 44.1 overs in the first innings. Apart from Reddy, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill were the other two notable contributors with scores of 37 and 31. After starting the second innings on a positive note with an early wicket of Usman Khawaja, India could not do much with the ball as Aussie batters Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne stood tall for their team and ended the day at 86/1, trailing India by 94 more runs.
