New Delhi: England player Harry Brooks took a splendid catch fielding at the third slip to dismiss West Indies debutant in the first session of the first Test match against England at the Lord’s on Wednesday. After winning the toss, England invited West Indies to bat first in London. While skipper Kraigg Brathwaite was the first one to depart on 6, one-down batter Kirk McKenzie followed him after scoring just one run.
Meanwhile, Mikyle Louis, who was playing his debut Test match for West Indies looked promising with the bat early on in the innings and played like a experienced player while wickets were falling at the other end. But the 22nd over from seasoned pacer Ben Stokes proved to be deadly for the youngster as he succumbed on swinging delivery.
Stokes bowls a perfect delivery
Stokes bowled an accurate delivery on the off stump which the debutant batter intended to fend off but it unfortunately caught the edge of the bat, going to the third slip where Brooks was placed. The fielder dived on his right side completing the catch using just his one hand. This stunning catch which received an applause from all his teammates ended the 27-run innings of the young player. Louis struck four boundaries and a lone six in his knock which was a good start to his career.
