Superb way to celebrate maiden Test call-up
Harshit’s superb all-round display comes on the back of his maiden Test call-up to the Indian squad for the tour Down Under starting next month. Harshit was selected in India’s 18-member squad for the five-match Border Gavaskar Trophy Test series against Australia.
His selection drew criticism from several quarters with question marks over his limited experience in red-ball cricket. However, the young star has proved his detractors wrong with a sensational all-round performance.
He was one of the three uncapped Test players selected for the Australia tour. Besides Harshit, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Abhimanyu Easwaran also recieved maiden Test call-ups. Bith Nitish Kumar and Harshit have shown their prowess in T20 cricket while Easwaran has been one of the consistent performers in the red-ball Indian domestic circuit for the last few years.
