New Delhi: Star Indian batter Virat Kohli is currently enjoying a long break from international cricket and was spotted strolling through London’s streets a couple of times. He last featured during the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. Kohli struggled against the Sri Lankan spinner in the ODI series and only managed to score 58 runs.
The failure of Indian batters resulted in the ODI series loss against Sri Lanka after 27 years. Virat Kohli returned to the Indian squad after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados on June 29. After lifting the trophy, Kohli retired from the T20I format to focus on Test and ODI cricket.
He is now focused on the upcoming Champions Trophy and World Test Championship in 2025. Team India qualified for the two consecutive WTC finals but faced defeat from New Zealand and Australia.
Kohli is expected to be back in action on September 19 to face Bangladesh in the two-match Test series. The Men in Blue will also play three Test matches against New Zealand in October and will tour Australia for the five-match Test series in late November.
‘Virat Kohli brings an aura’: India’s fielding coach T Dilip
Indian fielding coach T Dilip praised Virat Kohli on Raw Talks with Vamshi podcast and said that there’s no difference between practice and match for him. He also said that Kohli influences juniors a lot with his actions.
“I feel there’s no difference between practice and a match for him. This also challenges me as a coach. I have to be on top of my game when giving him practice, but he brings an aura that goes without saying. He influences juniors a lot, not with words, but through his actions. His fielding, efforts, and intensity are all reflective and people around him start to imitate. When they can replicate even half of these qualities, we’re able to achieve something special” T Dilip said on Raw Talks with Vamshi YT.
India’s fielding coach T Dilip praised Virat Kohli for his brilliant batting and the extra efforts he puts in during fielding. Kohli is expected to be back for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
