New Delhi: Sexyy Red almost had a career in professional wrestling. The St. Louis rapper was offered a permanent spot in WWE, which could have made her a full-time superstar. However, due to her packed schedule, she had to turn it down. Instead, she made guest appearances, including hosting NXT and unveiling the NXT North American Women’s Championship. She later hosted NXT Battleground in Nevada.

She believes rap and wrestling share many similarities, as both require performers to step into a character while still staying true to themselves. She compared the stage and the ring, saying that once the lights go off, performers return to their real lives, leaving behind the personas they create for entertainment.

Why Sexyy Red turned WWE’s offer down

Despite WWE’s interest in making her a full-time star, Sexyy Red couldn’t commit to the intense training schedule needed to transition into wrestling. Balancing her music career with the demands of sports entertainment was too much, leading her to choose cameo appearances instead.

Though she didn’t become a WWE superstar, her love for wrestling is clear. Her NXT appearances were well received, and she even shared a moment with Shawn Michaels, singing his iconic Sexy Boy theme song.

Outside of wrestling, Sexyy Red remains one of the most talked-about figures in music. Her unique style and personality have earned her a loyal fanbase, and she often speaks out on social issues. She believes food should be free and that no one should ever be homeless. She also takes pride in her love for True Religion jeans, owning around 600 pairs, as she connects with people from humble backgrounds.

Her rising fame has also come with challenges. She admitted that the more famous she gets, the more unsafe she feels, believing that people see her as a bigger target. She also shared her experiences with law enforcement in St. Louis, saying that some officers are fans of her music, while others use her celebrity status to give her a hard time.

Meanwhile, her collaboration with Bruno Mars, Fat Juicy & Wet, is currently at No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100 after peaking at No. 17.

Sexyy Red was offered a full-time WWE superstar role but turned it down due to her busy schedule. Instead, she made cameo appearances, including hosting NXT and unveiling a championship belt.  WWE Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
