How to check EPF balance through SMS?

To check your EPF balance via SMS, ensure your Universal Account Number (UAN) is activated and your mobile number is registered with the EPFO. Here’s how you can do it:

Step 1: Open your messaging app and compose a new message.
Step 2: Type: EPFOHO UAN ENG (Replace UAN with your 12-digit UAN); ENG denotes English for default language responses.
Step 3: Send the SMS to 7738299899.
If you prefer to receive SMS in a language other than English, append the first three characters of your desired language after “UAN”.
For example, to receive SMS in Telugu, send “EPFOHO UAN TEL” to 7738299899.
Shortly after sending the SMS, you will receive a message from EPFO containing your latest PF contribution details and current balance.
The message may also include updates on your Know Your Customer (KYC) details associated with your UAN.
This service is available in 10 languages.

If your employer has digitally verified and submitted your Aadhaar, PAN, and bank account details, you may not receive the SMS notification.
