IDF Releases Statement, Issues Guidelines Following Strikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon

Tel Aviv: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched preemptive strikes on targets in Lebanon, aiming to neutralize Hezbollah on Sunday. The IDF described these actions of attack as a measure of self-defense. 

Following the attacks, the IDF issued a statement issuing new guidelines and announcing partial restrictions across several regions.

IDF’s Statement Following the Attack 

As per the statement, the Home Front Command’s defensive protocols will undergo life-saving adjustments from 6 AM Today.

The areas affected by these changes include the northern and southern Golan Heights, the confrontation line, Upper Galilee, Lower Galilee, Central Galilee, Beit She’an Valley, various valleys, Haifa Bay, Carmel, Wadi Ara, Menashe, Sharon, and Dan.  Partial restrictions will be enforced in the these regions of Israel. 

The IDF urged the public to adhere to the Home Front Command’s instructions and to await for further directives.

 General Herzi Halevi Overseeing Operations 

Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, the Chief of the General Staff, is overseeing the offensive and defensive operations from the Underground Operations Center in the Kirya. He is continuously assessing the situation with the General Staff Forum, the Israeli Air Force, Northern Command, and the Intelligence Directorate.

Hezbollah’s Response to Attack

In response to the Israeli strikes, Hezbollah fired over 150 projectiles from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, stating it was retaliation for the killing of its military commander, Fuad Shukr.
