New Delhi: Glenn Phillips took a sensational catch to spoil Virat Kohli’s 300th ODI match against New Zealand at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, February 2. The star batter only managed to score 11 runs off 14 balls with the help of two boundaries. Glenn Phillips caught him on the fourth ball of the seventh over of India’s innings bowled by Matt Henry.
The Indian team management and fans hoped for another great inning from Kohli on Sunday, but the former India captain failed to do much with the bat. Kohli looked in fine touch during his short stay at the crease, but Phillips’ sensational catch stunned everyone at the Dubai International Stadium.
A short, wide delivery and Kohli smashed it to the right of Phillips at the backward point. He leaps, flings out his right hand, and hangs on to an absolute blinder. The ball was almost behind him, but he catches it while almost being parallel to the ground. Kohli couldn’t believe his eyes, and no one really can in the stadium.
