New Delhi: Following the implementation of the 10-point diktat by the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, a lot has changed in Indian cricket. Among the strict guidelines was the restriction for players bringing their own personal chefs, stylists, and staff on overseas tours.

A recent report revealed that a cricket star made BCCI pay for 250kg of luggage on Australia tour with his bags reportedly consisting of a whopping 17 cricket bats, as well as other items of the members of the player’s family and personal staff.

With no option but to respect the guidelines, players are finding unique ways to deal with the new normal in Indian cricket. Superstar batter Virat Kohli is very particular about his diet and has found a distinct way to get his favourite meals in Dubai, where the team landed on February 17, Sunday ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

How Kohli is getting his favourite delicacies in Dubai?

As per a report in the Times of India, Kohli recieved a food package via delivery after arriving at the training venue. In the absence of personal chefs, the Delhi dasher found a way to get his favourite food during the overseas tours. Kohli reportedly made contact with the local team manager at the venue and briefed him in detail about his demand. A few hours later, the manager delivered a packet from a popular food joint.

“It had had few boxes of Kohli’s post-session meal. While the others packed their kit bags, Kohli was refuelling and even saved a box for the road.” the report said.

The likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja recently made a comeback to the Ranji Trophy following BCCI’s release of the 10-point diktat.

Meanwhile, Team India took part in their first net session in Dubai on Sunday with Virat reportedly being the first one to hit the net. He and Rohit faced the pace bowling of Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh while Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer hit some powerful shots in the nets, so much so that Pant was injured by a shot of the the former.

Team India face Bangladesh in their Champions Trophy opener on February 20. The Men In Blue will next take on arch-rivals Pakistan in a high-octane contest on February 23. India will play all its matches in the Champions Trophy in Dubai.
