New Delhi: India defeated Afghanistan by 47 runs at Kensington Oval in Barbados and continued their winning run in the T20 World Cup 2024. Indian bowlers did a fantastic job and defended 181 runs target.
Jasprit Bumrah is in fine form in the ongoing World Cup and has delivered another great performance against Afghanistan. He picked up three wickets and gave away just 7 runs in his four-over spell.
Speaking to ESPNCricinfo Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar heaped praise on Jasprit Bumrah after his outstanding performance in the match. He said that Bumrah is performing in the USA and West Indies like Sunil Narine perform at Eden Garden during IPL.
Manjrekar also said that there’s a big margin between Bumrah and other bowlers and India is fortunate to have him in the playing XI.

Bumrah picked up 2 wickets at an economy of two in the first match against Ireland. He delivered another great performance against arch-rivals Pakistan and took 3 wickets in four overs. He won the Player of the Match award for his outstanding bowling in both matches.
Suryakumar Yadav & bowler shine for India
The Men in Blue started their Super 8 campaign with a 47-run win against Afghanistan. India got off to a poor start as captain Rohit Sharma departed in the third over after opting to bat first. Rashid Khan dismissed Virat Kohli (24) who was also struggling to score runs.
Suryakumar Yadav (53) stitched a crucial 60-run partnership with Hardik Pandya (32) as India posted 181 runs on the scoreboard. Chasing the target, Afghanistan lost the wicket at regular intervals and got all out on 134 runs. Arshdeep and Bumrah picked up three wickets each. Kuldeep Yadav also took two wickets. India will next face Bangladesh at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on June 22.
