New Delhi: Tottenham Hotspur suffer yet another massive injury blow as Radu Dragusin, will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to an injury to his right knee’s anterior cruciate ligament. The 23-year-old needs surgery after sustaining the injury during Tottenham’s Europa League loss to Elfsborg last week. Given that some ACL injuries can keep players out of action for up to a year, he is anticipated to be out for at least six months. Dragusin “will be evaluated by our medical team to ascertain when he can return to training,” according to Tottenham.
The towering defender has been an active participant in Ange Postecoglou’s side, where he has already started 21 of Tottenham’s past 23 games in all competitions. He has made a total of 16 appearances in the league, where he started 14 games. While fellow defenders Micky van de Ven and Ben Davies recently returning from their injuries, the Romanian international joins Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner, Wilson Odobert, Cristian Romero, and Dominic Solanke on the sidelines.
We can confirm that Radu Dragusin will undergo surgery for an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury to his right knee.
Radu will be assessed by our medical team to determine when he can return to training.

Disappointments of transfer window already reflecting for Spurs
It is fair to say that Tottenham clearly didn’t have the best transfer window, where they did have plans of making some major signings, specifically attempting to strengthen their defence. A £70m offer was made by the North London side, as they were keen on going all in for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, but that offer was eventually rejected by the Eagles.
However, Austrian defender Kevin Danso joined Tottenham on Sunday, with a £21 million buyout option, on loan for the remainder of the season. It looks likely that Danso will immediately be put in the starting lineup in Spurs’ exciting clash against Liverpool in the EFL Cup semi final, considering how Postecoglou’s side have suffered these many injuries in the past few months.
Spurs’ current situation
With the number of absentees rising, problems for Ange Postecoglou also take a massive rise. Since the beginning of the 2024–25 season, Spurs have sustained 27 different injuries. Just Pedro Porro, Dejan Kulusevski, Lucas Bergvall, Brandon Austin, and Sergio Reguilon have not missed a game due to injury out of the 24 Tottenham players who have started a Premier League game this season, excluding newcomer Antonin Kinsky.
Five players have missed more than half of Tottenham’s 37 games this season in all competitions, and seven have missed ten or more. The striker Richarlison has missed 24 games, center-back Micky van de Ven has missed 21 games, and forward Wilson Odobert, who underwent surgery in November due to a hamstring ailment, has missed 30 games.
With last weekend’s win over Brentford, Spurs managed to at least avoid slipping further closer to the relegation zone, as now they are breathing down Manchester United’s neck at 14th position. However, things are not looking good for them as they need to sort their injury issues as soon as possible, and tremendous amount of pressure is on Ange Postecoglou at this point.
A huge blow for Tottenham, as yet another one of their starting defenders will be undergoing a surgery after suffering an ACL injury, keeping him out for six months. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
