New Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) rode on a stunning knock of unbeaten 94 off 48 balls from Ishan Kishan and impressive spells from Eshan Malinga and Pat Cummins to beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 42 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Friday, May 23. The defeat came as a big blow to RCB in their bid to finish in the top two this season.
Jitesh Sharma led RCB against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Friday due to regular skipper Rajat Patidar recovering from a finger injury. Patidar came on as an impact substitute during RCB’s chase, but failed to do enough to help his side scale down the huge target of 232 runs. Despite a good start from openers Virat Kohli and Phil Salt, RCB faltered in the chase to suffer a big defeat.
