New Delhi: Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) players observed a minute’s silence ahead of their clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Wednesday to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack. The ghastly terror attack that took place in Pahalgam’s Baisaran meadow on Tuesday left at least 28 dead and several others injured.
The terrorists opened fire on innocent visitors who were enjoying their leisure time at the popular tourist spot. Two foreign nationals were among the 28 civilians killed in the gruesome attack that has sent shockwaves across the nation. In the wake of the terror attack, the Mumbai Indians and SRH players paid their respects to the victims by observing a minute’s silence ahead of their game.
The players from both sides, as well as the support staff from both teams, the commentators and the match officials are also sporting black armbands to honour the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. Earlier, it was reported that there will be no cheerleaders during the game and no fireworks will be used inside the stadium as a mark of respect to the victims of the terror attack.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya and SRH captain Pat Cummins also expressed their condolences for those affected in the Pahalgam terrorist attack. “I would like to firstly pass my condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack. We as a team and a franchise, condemn any such attacks,” said MI skipper Hardik after winning the toss.
SRH captain Cummins echoed similar sentiments as he spoke about the terror attack. “It has been heartbreaking for us as well, our thoughts are with the victims and their families,” said the Australian pacer.
